Doctor-Patient Partnership Incentive Mechanism 
- In order to build a good doctor-patient relationship, encourage patient active engagement in the treatment process, and follow the advice of their family doctor to achieve better health outcomes and status, the scheme has built-in collaborative doctor-patient partnership incentive mechanism.
- Incentive payment calculation will start from the Scheme Participants' second participant programme year (PPY) onwards.

To be eligible to receive incentive payment, family doctors must fulfil the
pre-requisite requirement by meeting a pre-defined percentage of patients who
satisfactorily controlled their levels of blood sugar and blood pressure. The
calculation of incentive payment is 15% of the total amount derived from the number
of actual subsidised visits in the treatment phase attended by the patients who have
achieved their incentive targets, the Government subsidy and the Government recommended
co-payment amount.
